Hello, my name is Toto. Early 2020, my new mommy found me on a beach on Praslin whilst on holiday here in Seychelles. When she saw me, she knew she wanted to take me home to Hungary where she lives.
She made a few calls and was able to bring me down to Mahé. Normally it takes about 4 months to get all the paperwork, bloodwork, and consent in order to export a pet to Europe.
Dr Maria and my mom started the process in April but then COVID-19 messed up their plans. By the time I was ready to fly the world was in chaos. Borders were closed and I wasn’t able to get on a flight.
My mom’s heart broke but she never gave up. She had so many doors close but she kept knocking. She never lost hope.
Finally, almost a year later and after a long trip, I arrived in Hungary to live with my mom. After just one day, I knew that this was my home where I am safe and loved and that this friendly lady who opened my cage door at the airport was MY MOM.
Thank you to Dr Maria, the SSPCA and everyone who made this possible. Animal adoption is truly a wonderful thing. I wish more people would adopt stray animals or my friends at the shelter.
I am one of the happiest dogs alive.
PS Here are some pictures of me before and after.
